My name is Keith and on my journey in life at the age of 15 I stumbled into what is now my fulltime career. I took a part-time job after school that continued into the summer. The job was at a furniture restoration and woodwork shop where I learned all the facets of antique restoration. I worked there for 12 years.
After moving to New Jersey in my late 20’s I landed a job with a company doing high-end custom built furniture. This is where I learned color matching and numerous finishers for New York City designers and architects.
Now in my 50’s I’m still finishing, but really craved something more to satisfy my artistic side. A few years ago on a weekend trip to New Hope, Pennsylvania I walked into a stained glass shop with various artists work displayed. I wanted to own one or more of the beautiful pieces. After glancing at the prices I knew it just wasn’t in my budget. I sadly walked out with nothing but couldn’t stop thinking about wanting to own one of those pieces. I began researching and watching online tutorials until I finally decided to give it a try. I quickly devoured everything I could get my hands on about the art of stained glass. Including torturing a glass supply owner with a million questions and guidance on how to really hone my craft.
Now fast forward to today and I have built my own home studio where I spend countless hours working on custom Stained Glass Art pieces and enjoying every minute of it. I love designing custom pieces for clients and have begun incorporating reclaimed wood into some of these pieces. I do a lot of restoration on stained glass light fixtures and glass panels as well. I have now expanded into one of a kind small glass jewelry pieces. You can find me at a good deal of the Craft Fairs in New Jersey where I usually display my glass jewelry, various stained glass panels, and unique three-dimensional art pieces. I am proud to say that today that same stained glass art shop in New Hope now displays some of my own custom pieces.
Enjoying the artistic freedom of crafting these custom stained glass art pieces I feel I have found my true calling. I know I will be doing this for a long time to come and looking forward to growing my small business.
